Because these shots are the ones that the play write thinks are the most important.

-In the script the villain in out of focus in the start- This gives the impression that he is mysterious
-Then there is a wide shot- this is used so the audience can see the whole scene and the action happening in it

Because he is not in focus at the start it makes him appear more mysterious and cunning. It also makes the audience wait for the big revel of his face and when it dose happen it is more dramatic.
What dose the audience know about Chigurh by the end of the scene? What words could be used to best describe him purely based on this scene?
From this scene we are given the impression that Chigurh is obviously the bad guy and he is not to be trusted. He has been caught by the police for doing something bad and he is also armed with a weapon so it was most likely murder. He is cunning, violent and cold blooded because in the space of 3 minutes he killed 2 people.
